OUR UPCOMING SERIES - "The Third Way: Kingdom Living in a Broken World"
This five-week sermon series explores the radical teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). It challenges us to embrace our woundedness, confront our idolatry, and pursue a life of meekness, mercy, and righteousness that reflects the values of God’s Kingdom. Through this journey, we discover how the Gospel transforms our brokenness into beauty, how small groups foster healing and discipleship, and how living out these Kingdom principles leads to the Victorious Christian Life. Ultimately, we are called to walk "The Third Way," a path of faithfulness that transcends the extremes of legalism and lawlessness, rooted in the grace and truth of Jesus Christ.
On September 15th, we'll look at Matthew 5:6-7; 17-48 as we talk about "Beyond the Surface: Confronting Our Idolatry and Embracing Kingdom Values."
This week, we'll dive deep into Jesus’ teachings from Matthew 5:17-48, where He calls us to confront the idols in our hearts and embrace true righteousness. Jesus challenges us to go beyond outward behavior and live from a heart transformed by the Gospel. This week, we explored the importance of meekness—trusting God’s power over our own, hungering and thirsting for righteousness—seeking God's justice and holiness, and showing mercy—reflecting the compassion we’ve received. Ultimately, Jesus invites us to live out the values of His Kingdom by allowing God to transform us from the inside out.
